Report the association's real position
The committee needs more than a bank balance. It needs cash, outstanding fees, bills, budget movement and the reserve position in one short report. This shared template also includes a fuller AGM version. Adapt the categories and sign-off to your incorporated association, including its state or territory requirements and any GST reporting handled elsewhere.
What is in the document
- A concise committee page for cash, debtors, creditors and performance against budget
- A member-fee tracker covering receipts, unpaid amounts and lapsed memberships
- An AGM report comparing annual income and spending categories with last year
- The current reserve level beside the floor agreed by the committee
- Approval blocks for the treasurer and any examiner required by the association
Making it yours
Use stable categories
Set a manageable number of income and cost headings, then resist changing them each month or season.
Show risk before routine detail
Lead with unpaid fees, a reserve breach or unexpected liability so the committee cannot miss the decision needed.
Apply association rules
Update examination and AGM sections for the constitution and the obligations applying in your state or territory.
Questions
What should an Australian treasurer report contain?
Show cash held, money due to and from the association, budget movement and fee collection for committee meetings. The AGM report should add annual income, expenditure, balances and reserves, following the association's constitutional requirements.
How regularly should it be prepared?
Bring a short written report to each committee meeting and a complete annual report to the AGM. A reliable one-page rhythm gives office bearers earlier warning than a large report assembled only at the end.
Can any Australian club use the file?
The shared download is free and requires no signup, but it needs adapting for the incorporated association, its jurisdiction and its constitution. It is not an Australian accounts template and does not settle GST treatment.
