Put the club's position on paper

A useful treasurer report tells the committee about cash, unpaid subs, bills, budget and reserves before it commits money. The shared download includes a brief meeting page and a fuller AGM version. Keep categories stable, show the difficult figure first and adapt sign-off or examination wording to the constitution, club structure and separate Revenue or VAT work.

What is in the document

  • A compact committee summary of cash, debtors, creditors and budget progress
  • A subs line for amounts received, still due and lapsed against expectation
  • An AGM statement comparing annual income and expenditure with last year
  • The club's reserve balance beside the floor agreed by the committee
  • Sign-off spaces for the treasurer and any independent examiner required

Making it yours

Use the same headings

Choose a limited set of income and spending categories and preserve them, making each meeting and year comparable.

Start with what needs action

Place overdue subs, a low reserve or unexpected bill above routine figures so the committee addresses it.

Follow the constitution

Adapt examination, approval and AGM wording to the club's adopted requirements and legal or tax structure.

Questions

What goes in an Irish club treasurer report?

For committee use, show cash, money owed to and by the club, budget movement and subs collection. The AGM report should add annual income, expenditure, balances and reserves, with any examination required by the constitution.

How often should it be produced?

Provide a short written report at each committee meeting and the complete version at the AGM. Consistent reporting helps volunteers respond to late subs or falling reserves before the position becomes harder to correct.

Is the treasurer report free?

Yes. The shared file can be downloaded and adapted without signup. It is not an Irish-specific accounts document. Change it for the club's structure, Revenue position and VAT treatment, obtaining suitable advice where needed.
