What is canoe club management software?
Canoe and kayak club management software is a system for running the gear room, paddling program, trips, coaches, members, and dues together. It must recognize that one club may offer sprint, slalom, polo, touring, and whitewater, with different equipment and sessions. For an American Canoe Association club, it can replace paper sign-outs, social posts, and qualification sheets while keeping safety information close to each activity. KanuHQ is being built for that work. It is not yet a launched product.

What canoe and kayak asks for that generic club software does not do
Any club platform will hold your members and take your dues. These are the parts clubs end up running in a spreadsheet alongside it.
Keep each paddling discipline distinct
Sprint, polo, touring, slalom, and whitewater may share members but little else. Each needs its own coaches, sessions, and gear. One crowded calendar hides the differences and makes it harder for members to find the right program.
Reserve a complete set of gear
A boat is only one part of what leaves the store. The member also needs a paddle, personal flotation gear, and often a spraydeck. The booking should catch a missing item before loading begins.
Track private boats beside club equipment
Members may store their own craft on club racks alongside shared boats. The club needs to allocate that space and connect any charge to the owner. One register can show ownership without losing the overall storage picture.
Put conditions on the activity record
River level and grade affect who is competent to paddle and whether the session proceeds. That decision belongs beside the event. A generic calendar cannot safely treat every water condition as the same outing.
Match qualified coaches to the session
The water and activity determine the coaching and safety cover required. A session should not run without the right award in place. KanuHQ is being shaped so those records guide scheduling instead of sitting in another file.
Give trips more than a calendar slot
An away day includes transport, gear lists, shuttle drivers, and the plan left behind. Those details need one trip record. Treating it like a regular evening session leaves the organizer rebuilding the plan elsewhere.

Who is behind KanuHQ
There is no published canoe and kayak case study yet, and we are not going to invent one. What we can point at is the engine underneath. RowHQ runs Oundle Town Rowing Club day to day, with real members, real money and real race entries going through it.
KanuHQ is a different sport on the same foundation, built by the same people. It is in build, and founding clubs get a direct line to the people writing it.

KanuHQ is still in build. The published pricing is free below 21 active members. The 21 to 30 member band is $21 monthly excluding sales tax, and the 251 to 300 band is $160. Every band includes every feature. There is no platform transaction fee, and card payments use the club's own Stripe account.
Can it keep background check information?
The planned member record can hold relevant safeguarding details. There is no single national check. Each national governing body runs checks for people it authorizes to hold authority over athletes or have regular contact with them. The checks cover specified records and last 24 months. Clubs remain responsible for following their governing body and U.S. Center for SafeSport policy.
Will one club be able to run several disciplines?
Yes. Supporting sprint, slalom, polo, touring, and whitewater under one membership is a core build requirement. Each discipline can keep suitable sessions, coaches, and equipment instead of being forced into one crowded calendar. The shared member record remains useful across the whole club.

That is the intention. A paddler normally needs the boat, paddle, personal flotation gear, and sometimes a spraydeck together. KanuHQ is being designed around what actually leaves the gear room, so an incomplete set can be spotted before the group reaches the water.
Are there grants that would cover club software for a paddling club?
Often, yes. American clubs fund gear and running costs through programs like Good Sports, All Kids Play and Sports Matter, and an annual KanuHQ subscription is a small line beside those asks. Clubs under 21 active members pay nothing anyway, and annual billing is charged at ten months, so the request stays modest.
