Keep member payments in order
A Canadian club can collect card payments through its own Stripe account and record other methods against the same roster. Reminders follow outstanding fees without repeated committee emails. The treasurer sees amounts and dates in one place, then exports clean figures for the wider books. SportsHQ adds no platform transaction fee to the club's receipts.

One status across payment methods
Cards update through Stripe, while transfers can be entered by an officer. Both appear against the correct member and renewal.
Membership prices stay flexible
Junior, family, student, senior and social categories can carry their own fees. Mid-year joins can be proportioned where club policy requires.
Other charges follow the roster
Event entries, courses and social tickets can use the membership system. The committee reconciles them without opening another payment tool.
No SportsHQ cut is deducted
The platform takes no transaction percentage. Stripe applies its processing fee and sends card income into the club's account.
Treasurer figures remain portable
Payment totals, dates and unpaid balances are exportable. Formal accounts can start from organised records instead of reconstructed bank entries.
The corporation retains its history
When officers change, payment records stay under club control. The incoming treasurer sees current fees and prior collections without delay.

Questions
How do Canadian clubs collect member fees online?
A member pays by card through Stripe into the club's own Stripe account. The system updates their record and follows unpaid fees with reminders. Other payment methods can be marked manually against that same roster.
Are platform transaction fees deducted?
SportsHQ takes no percentage of membership or event income. Stripe charges its normal processing fee for a card payment, then settles the money to the club's Stripe account. The club handles any GST or HST obligations separately.
What about payments made outside Stripe?
An authorised officer can record a transfer or other accepted payment against the member. It joins the online receipts in one status list. This avoids maintaining separate paid and unpaid records for each collection method.
Will it replace our accounting package?
No. The feature manages member charges, reminders, receipts and an export for the treasurer. Full expenses, statutory reporting and GST or HST treatment remain in the club's accounting process. The two jobs have different purposes.
How does payment handover work?
The not-for-profit corporation keeps its records within the shared system. A new treasurer receives access to prior payments, outstanding balances and exportable figures. They do not need a predecessor's personal files to understand the position.
