Communications
Message the members involved
A club-wide email is easy to ignore when only one roster needs the update. Draw the audience from current member data, then reach the team, age group or duty crew concerned. Summer cancellations arrive before travel. Longer notices stay in the club area, where members can return to them after group chat has moved on.
What it has to do
Membership data creates the audience
Contact squads, age groups, volunteers or owners using fields the club already maintains. Separate mailing sheets are unnecessary.
Urgent changes save a journey
Send weather or condition decisions directly to registered participants. They receive the final position before leaving for the venue.
Only current members stay listed
Joiners enter and leavers depart through the main roster. An old exported address file cannot continue circulating unnoticed.
Club notices remain available
Published information has a stable home inside the member area. People can find it without searching days of messages.
Preferences follow the person
Members manage their own communication choices. Committee senders use the recorded settings for each type of optional update.
Conversation stays in chat
Informal talk can continue in existing groups. The club system holds decisions, instructions and information that must remain clear.
The same job in four sports
This is the bit a general platform cannot do. Same feature, shaped by what the sport actually needs.
Questions
What is wrong with using chat alone?
A chat has no dependable final record. Decisions become buried, old members remain in groups and officers repeat answers. Use it for conversation, then keep the confirmed roster, cancellation or notice where every affected member can retrieve it.
Can a message go to one Canadian team?
Yes. Recipients can be selected from the current roster, an age category, a session or a volunteer assignment. The sender reaches one useful group without copying addresses into an outside mailing platform.
How do communication preferences work?
Each member controls their preferences through their record. Those choices guide optional messages, while the club applies its stated approach to necessary operational information. Officers no longer manage consent in a separate spreadsheet.
On most committees this job belongs to the club secretary. If that is you, or about to be, our guide to the whole role covers the parts software cannot do for you.
